'Dirgahayu', an exhibition about the 
Royalties in Malaysia

‘Dirgahayu’ was an initiative project which took over a year to complete. Nine Royal Houses were invited to share their private photographs of their family lineage with the public for the purpose of this exhibition. More than 1000 old photographs were restored, enlarged and printed on canvas for display at the Istana Budaya.

The 60 day exhibition was graced by the H.R.H, The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and hosted by Tan Sri Dr.Rais Yatim, the Minister of Arts Culture and Heritage. More than 200 invited guests came to the launch of the exhibition . Tengku Razaleigh,the YT of Negeri Sembilan, the late Tuanku Jaafar, TYT of Penang and also the late Y.M.M Raja Perempuan Besar Perlis,visited the gallery during the 2 month exhibition. Certainly one of Canvas Art’s most rewarding and proudest exhibitions to date.
